Não concordo com esta nova classificação.

Sou médica, fiz 3 residencias de especialidade, tenho mestrado, passei anos de minha vida estudando tudo que encontrava sobre CI  e...tenho CI há longos e terríveis 30 anos!

A CI sempre foi historicamente classificada em CI não ulcerosa e CI ulcerosa.Dentro destes 2 grandes grupos, incluia-se casos que tinham características muito semelhantes e, apesar de um tanto subjetivas, bastante típicas, a ponto de eu chama-las de "DOGMAS DA CISTITE INTERSTICIAL".

Este novo nome que deram inclui outros casos de dor pélvica que não guardam relação com as características dogmáticas da CI.Dor pélvica em cólica, sem ardor ou sem sensação de repleção vesical, dor recorrente com intervalos sem dor maiores do que os intervalos com dor...nada disto é compatível com CI! Fazem parte do grupo de "dor pélvica crônica" e, certamente , são relacionados ao trato genital/reprodutor.

Uma das principais características da CI é exatamente o tempo de dor contínua - quem pensa em CI como quadro algico de repetição, não tem idéia do que é ter CI! Na verdade, acho impossível que alguém sem CI entenda o que é a dor da CI...

I do not agree with this new classification.

I am a doctor, I made three medical residencies, I have masters,I've spent many years of my life studying everything I could find about IC and… I’ve been a IC patient for 30 long and  terrible years!

The CI has always been historically classified as nonulcer IC and ulcer IC . These two large groups includes cases that had very similar characteristics and, although somewhat subjective, fairly typical, and that’s why I call them "dogmas of interstitial cystitis. "

This new name includes other cases of pelvic pain not related with the dogmatics characteristics of IC. Pelvic pain with cramps, without burning or no sense of bladder fullness; recurrent pain with pain-free intervals longer than the intervals with pain… none of this is compatible with IC!  These cases are in fact  included in the group of "chronic pelvic pain" and are certainly related to the genital tract / reproductive system.

A key feature of IC is exactly the duration of continuous pain - who think of IC as painful episodes of repetition, has no idea what it is to have IC! Actually, I think it impossible for someone without IC understand what is the pain of IC ...
